Lockheed Martin Environmental Communications of Westlake Village, Ca. in collaboration with L. Darryl ARMSTONG and Associates, a full service behavioral public participation and public relations consulting firm in Eddyville, Ky designed, implemented, and evaluated a two-year community relations and public involvement program in Burlington, Massachusetts.
The program was designed to inform, educate and involve sixteen key petitioners and other interested members of the public.
The program used the Collaborative Informed Consent Model developed by Dr. Armstrong and focused on the environmental remediation work that was underway in the community, which is next door to Woburn, Massachusetts, a community made infamous through the book and movie, A Civil Action.
The program met all strategic objectives and no litigation was engaged.
The project was cited by the Public Relations Society of America as an award-winning national Silver Anvil project.
