Bobbie Foust Recounts Her 54-Year Career in Journalism
Bobbie Foust, the 2020 Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce’s Lifetime Achievement Awardee grew up on her ancestral homeplace — a farm on Needmore Road halfway between Palma and Lone Valley. She acquired her early education at the one-room Howard’s Grove School, and as a fifth grader, transferred to Palma’s two-room school. Read more here
Kentucky Dam literally pushed Marshall County and its environs out of poverty. It was the brainchild of Calvert City businessman Luther Draffen and U.S. Sen. Alben Barkley of Paducah. Thomas "Tom" Rickman - February 8, 1940 – September 3, 2018 was an American film director, playwright, and screenwriter best known for his work on Coal Miner's Daughter, Hooper, Tuesdays with Morrie and Truman. "Tommy " as he was known to his friends was born and raised in Sharpe, Kentucky, Marshall County. Bobbie Foust recalls her interviews with Tom and his family.
