September 11, 2001, I sat at my desk at our cabin Tranquilla on Lake Barkley.

I was reading a week’s worth of emails and planning for the next week’s travel.

It was a beautiful autumn day. Temperature 70 degrees with a light westerly wind sweeping across Lake Barkley.

At 8:46  a.m., I watched the NBC breaking news that changed our world forever.

Twenty-three years later, some people way more than should have forgotten that day.

I am not one of them.
