In a world where luggage disappears like morning mist, a small teddy bear with gingham attire and the most darling bunny slippers waits patiently at Norfolk International Airport’s Lost & Found. The bear—let’s call him Gingham, for now—found himself abandoned on December 30th, a casualty of holiday travel’s chaotic ballet.

The airport, showing more tenderness than one expects from an institution of steel and concrete, posted Gingham’s portrait on Facebook with a plea that might break the stoniest heart: “Can you help me find my owner?”

The digital village rallied immediately. Nearly two thousand souls shared the post, each one imagining, perhaps, the tear-stained face of a child missing their confidant. “Let’s get that stuffy home!!!” wrote one woman, her exclamation points standing like soldiers against the tide of loss.

The amateur detectives arrived next, scrutinizing Gingham’s pedigree. “That’s a Build-A-Bear,” confirmed a mother whose daughter possessed Gingham’s twin. Another, more versed in teddy bear forensics, explained the existence of internal barcodes and a “find-a-bear program”—as if these plush companions carried passports in their stuffed hearts.

Not everyone was moved, of course. “How bout stop f–kin up our luggage!” wrote one disgruntled traveler, his keyboard seemingly as broken as his faith in airport services. Another lamented a driver’s license left behind in a TSA bin, as if to say: we humans are lost too, you know.
