Be sure to train all personnel — ATF Checklist for Bomb Threats

Writer's picture: L. Darryl ArmstrongL. Darryl Armstrong

Using checklists during a bomb threat is prudent and a best practice.  Organizations should remember to train all personnel who may take a bomb threat or be in a position to see suspicious packages.  Secretaries, maintenance and security personnel are important front-line employees, who need such training. Be sure to instruct all personnel to never touch any suspicious package and to report such packages immediately according to your standard operating procedures.

As part of the webinar we have been conducting for Paper-Clip.com entitled Campus Bomb Threats: Policies, Protocol & Plans we include the ATF checklist for Bomb Threats, which is now available at our website www.ldarrylarmstrong.com look under webinar in the left column – click and it will take you to the webinar resource page.
